This system is on a vertical plane. Using geo synthetic around the chamber keeps the sand from migrating into the sidewalls. The patented Sidewinder sidewall can handle up to 100” of rain per hour.
Stone and Pipe Failures
Sand is not a bridgeable soil in an open environment because it has no structure. Rain events force the smaller sand fines down into the stone which creates clogging. Stone breaks down over time which creates larger fines that can clog 4” pipe. Perforated pipe does not have enough opening size to handle large rain events.
